Goodbye, London – Some random thoughts

“Jaywalking is not only common, it’s required. I felt like I was in a game of Frogger, trying to decide if I have more time to jump in front of the double decker red bus or the black cab….

…Overall, there’s not a lot of culture shock involved in an American going to London. It doesn’t feel that much different from a big American city, really. But there are lots of little things that surprised me — like the fact that I did have difficulty understanding some people with especially thick accents and that coins are actually worth something (there are one and two pound coins, so you can actually get a beer with just a few coins).”
